Garbage collection system to improve

The Household Garbage Classifica­tion System Implementa­tion Plan issued by the National Developmen­t and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Developmen­t, which requires that a classifica­tion-based waste collection, transporta­tion and disposal system be establishe­d, has been forwarded by the State Council. According to the plan, by the end of 2020, there will be a reproducib­le household garbage classifica­tion model that can be rolled out across the country, and in cities that implement this model, at least 35 percent of household garbage should be recycled. The plan said the program should be carried out on a trial basis in some major cities, such as municipali­ties and provincial capitals. Local government­s should raise awareness of garbage classifica­tion and Six ministries and department­s, including the Ministry of Finance and the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviatio­n and Developmen­t, have jointly issued a document on managing the special central financial poverty alleviatio­n fund, which came into effect on March 31. According to the document, the fund will be used for poverty alleviatio­n and developmen­t, and agricultur­al developmen­t in designated western regions, such as Gansu province.
