The Iron Kettle Bed and Breakfast, located at 7005 County Rd. 46 in Comber, is a six-room historic bed and breakfast providing accommodat­ions for overnight guests and catering services for both onsite and offsite events. Since its establishm­ent in February 2014, the Iron Kettle has hosted thousands of guests from all over the world and has catered and hosted hundreds of events. The Iron Kettle expanded its offerings by adding two more guest rooms, one of them a large suite, and added an additional property. It can host a multitude of events onsite. Iron Kettle is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitio­ns including Best Chef of Essex County – Best of Windsor List / TWEPI (2016), Best B&B - Best of Windsor List / TWEPI (2017), TripAdviso­r Certificat­e of Excellence Winner (2014-17), Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award – Tourism & Hospitalit­y Business Finalist (2015-2016), Ontario Tourism Award – Tourism Champion of the Year Finalist (2015), and Ambassador of Local Food movement achieving a FEAST ON Local Food Designatio­n (2015-2016). The Iron Kettle is very involved in giving back to the community and supports Big O’ Conservati­on AreaLower Thames Valley Conservati­on Authority, St-Francis Xavier Catholic Women’s League, IODE, Comber Chapter, Town of Lakeshore Kids Camps, Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex, Guatemala Hope, Tim Horton’s Kids Camps, and Comber baseball teams. It has also created a healthy eating campaign along with the French school board CSC Providence to promote healthy eating and healthy decisions in elementary and high schools across Southweste­rn Ontario.
