WHAT’S UP THIS WEEKEND
WATERLOO REGION — There’s a knitters’ fair in Kitchener, an old-timey fall fair in Cambridge and a traditional Polish festival Woolwich. Take your pick of any of these fun, family-friendly events and a few others going on in Waterloo Region this weekend. Here’s a short list: Fibre fans can stock up on vibrant yarn to knit up some woollies for winter at The Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters’ Guild annual fair on Saturday. It’s the event’s 25th year and will feature more than 70 different vendors with the latest yarn and knitting products on hand. You can also take part in workshops or listen to guest speakers at The Kitchener Memorial Auditorium this Saturday.

The Cambridge Fall Fair continues its age-old tradition in Dickson Park with amusement rides, games and live entertainment into the weekend. Admission is free on Sunday but tickets are required on Saturday. For more information, visit the website at www.thefallfair.com.
Celebrate with the local Polish community at the Polish Harvest and Food Festival in Woolwich on Sunday. The traditional festival will feature food, music, folk dancing and a harvest pageant.
Pop by Kitchener City Hall this Sunday for the South Asian Cultural Fair hosted by the India Canada Association. There will be food, music and dancing as well as a bazaar.
Learn all about the majestic Monarch butterfly at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory this weekend. It is Monarch tagging weekend and the conservatory will offer educational activities and presentations as well as a butterfly release.
