There’s a lot to do in Waterloo Region this weekend. Here’s a short list: Kidspark returns to Victoria Park this Saturday with dozens of local organizations offering games, activities, crafts and entertainment for families. There will be a rock climbing wall, theatre workshop and giant sports-themed inflatables as well.

For a more detailed schedule of events, visit www.kitchener.ca/en/Kidspark.asp.

Spend your Sunday afternoon in uptown Waterloo for another day of Open Streets. The free event is meant to encourage pedestrian traffic by closing the streets to cars in the uptown core on occasional summer Sundays.

This year the event is taking on a different form because of ongoing construction in uptown. Visit the Laurel and Spurline trails and Waterloo Public Square instead for fun activities all afternoon.

For more information, visit the website at www.waterloo.ca/en/living/OpenStreets.asp.

Check out a community powwow in Forbes Park. It is Cambridge’s first powwow and everyone is invited to watch traditional Aboriginal drumming, singing and dancing. Food and craft vendors will also be plentiful at the free event.

The Waterloo Region Chinese Community Association will host their annual summer festival on Saturday. Feast on authentic Chinese cuisine, take in some arts and culture ad enjoy family-friendly activities. There will also be a five-kilometre and 10kilometre Hike for Heart, Ride for Life fundraiser at 11 a.m. The festival is free but the walk requires a minimum $20 donation to enter. All proceeds go to St. Mary’s General Hospital.
