The annual local online auction, taking place from Feb. 22 to 27, is a fantastic way to highlight Vancouver's blossoming community of small businesses — all while offering locals an opportunity to take advantage of great savings.
“The Support and Buy Local Auction is Postmedia's way of helping our fellow B.C. residents engage in supporting the local businesses they may not have heard about,” says Sharon Smith, multimedia sales manager at Postmedia in Vancouver. “Not only does this annual online auction highlight Vancouver's essential small businesses — it also boosts our local economy and offers well-deserved savings to locals.”
Buyers and businesses alike have benefited from the Support and Buy Local Auction in previous years, with great deals for locals and benefits for the community businesses involved.
As an example of this, Postmedia allocates the entire proceeds from sold items toward future advertising for all participating businesses in the Support and Buy Local Auction, regardless of the winning bid amounts.
Plus, as new listings continue to pour in, those who register early will gain privileged access to an exclusive preview of the auction inventory before the event begins.
