Needlework Drop-in

THUR., AUG 31 Truro Public Library, 3 - 4:30 p.m.; work on needlework crafts; bring a project, or help knit a community project. Basic knitting, crochet instructio­n available. Ages 8 and up

Dance

Old time dance, Toney River Community Hall, 7:30 p.m. Music by Raymond, Marlene and Lynn. Admission $7; shared lunch; proceeds for the hall.

Church Supper

Church supper, 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out) at Sedgwick Memorial Presbyteri­an Church in Tatamagouc­he. Casseroles, salads, baked beans, etc. Adults $12; children (under 12) $5. Proceeds for church purposes.

Queen of Hearts

Queen of Hearts draw, Tatamagouc­he Legion and North Shore Rec. Centre, held at the Legion; jackpot approx. $5,400; 27 cards remaining, 2 to 4 p.m.; everyone welcome.
