Claude “Raymond” Jobe – 83, Lower Onslow, passed away peacefully May 23, 2017 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Westcheste­r, he was the son of the late Earle and Olive (Lewis) Jobe.

Raymond built many homes throughout his time on Lyman Street.

He also worked for many years with the CNR Railway. After a serious accident, he needed a hobby and began to do custom framing which grew into an extensive activity.

Raymond had a great love for travel, especially throughout Canada and the USA. Raymond and Judy, on the course of their travels, met many wonderful people and made lasting friendship­s. They belonged to the Wally Byam Club and attended many Airstream rallies throughout the USA. He was a longtime member of the Truro Lions Club and helped at whatever function he could. He was a former president and served two terms with the Disabled Consumers Society of Colchester and spent much of his free time repairing equipment for the disabled.

He is survived by his wife, Judy (Fowler), to which he was a wonderful, loving husband; daughter, Elaine (Grant) Campbell, Truro; son, David (Lili Wei) Jobe; grandchild­ren, Benjamin, Jessie, Eleanor Lee; brother, Robert “Bob”, Truro; sisters, Betty (Terry) Butler, Woodstock, N.B., Irene (Jerry) Spargo, Halifax.

Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his first wife, Eleanor.

The family wish to thank Dr.’s Don Rowe and Adam Aleksis as well as the staff of intermedia­te care at Colchester East Hants Health Centre and the VON, especially Heather, Laura and Lois; the staff at Today’s Nurse, especially Ashley, Melinda and Darlene.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 29 at 3 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiatin­g. Reception will follow. Burial in Bible Hill Cemetery.
