Condolence­s:

Firefighte­rs throughout the tri-counties wish to express their condolence­s to the families, friends and members of the Yarmouth Fire Department on the passing of the following:

• Veteran John Murphy passed away Dec. 6 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. John was a member of the former Salvage Corp. Co#6 of the Yarmouth Fire Department and the department’s longest- serving member, having taken his veterans status last year after 62 years of dedicated service. He was also a longtime director with the Firefighte­rs’ Museum of Nova Scotia. It has been requested that donations in his memory be made to any local elementary school breakfast/ lunch program. • Honorary member Andrew “Andy” Deveau passed away Dec.7 in the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta. Formally of Yarmouth, Andy joined the former Hook & Ladder, Co.#5 before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force. Norm’s No- Bake Christmas Cookies Ingredient­s:

1-300g pkg. Butterscot­ch Chip- Chinese its

½ cup peanut butter 1-cup mini marshmallo­ws 1- can chow mein noodles (crunchy kind)

Preparatio­n:

Melt butterscot­ch chipits and peanut butter in top of double boiler, stirring until well mixed. Remove from heat and immediatel­y add marshmallo­ws and chow mein noodles. Drop spoonfuls of mixture onto wax paper and let dry until set. Store in airtight container or freeze

Winners of MD fall raffle:

The annual Muscular Dystrophy Atlantic Fall Raffle was a great success. This year $26,575 was raised, allowing for expanded reach of support services, and providing a brighter future to those affected by neuromuscu­lar disorders.
