RAEMOND FITZGERALD GERMAN

-

Raemond Fitzgerald German passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. He leaves behind his loving wife Verna, and his family - by birth and by marriage ̫ who cherished him dearly. Rae was loved by sons Brad German and Randy Polley (Shohreh) and daughters Bess German (TiЇany) and Cathy Tambakis (Basil) and adored by seven grandchildren. His beloved mother Edith and father Bruce, and his brothers Bill and Herb preceded him in death.

Rae lived life to the fullest! He treasured time with family, a career of meaningful work, service to others, many sports, and some of the greatest golden retriever companions, including Ben, Blue and Cody. After training as an engineer at the University of Guelph and the University of Toronto, his career at Clark Equipment and Whirlpool Corporation helped him to make lifelong friends of co-workers and travel the world. He was a star football player in college, even playing professional with the Hamilton Tiger Cats; a talented hockey player from childhood to his 70s!; a decent tennis and racquetball player too. In his retirement, he took up Љying and always enjoyed taking family and friends up with him. He was even known to play the banjo! In recent years, you could Јnd Rae most at home spending time with Verna, swimming in Lake Michigan, practicing on the hockey ice, giving back to his community, or enjoying good food and drink with friends. He will long be remembered for the positive energy he brought into the world, with good will and good deeds.

In Rae's last days, he received excellent loving care from the staЇ of Јrst, Joseph Brant Hospital and then Billings Court Manor in Burlington, ON.

A private interment will take place at St. George United Cemetery, in St. George, Ontario. A Celebration of Life, in St. Joseph's, Michigan will be held at a later date.

In lieu of Љowers, we ask that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society or Habitat for Humanity. Condolences can be left on Rae's Memorial Page at
