A GIFT TAG THAT’S A GIFT ITSELF
Easy- to-make tags add a personal touch to your Christmas presents
Shades of white, collected finds and a little glitter turn plain manila gift tags into extra special gift toppers that no one will want to toss in the bin when the gift giving is over.
Easy and surprisingly quick to make, these tags add a personal touch to presents. Just gather up some pretty embellishments, tape and manila tags to add a festive finish that almost doubles as a gift on its own.
Supplies:
Manila tags
Twine
Scissors
Washi tape
Ink pad
Rubber stamps
Scissors
Glue gun
Fresh greenery
Glass or plastic craft ornament balls
Pages from an old book
Tinsel
Various decorative items: pom poms, bells, mini trees, ornaments, glitter stars
Whimsical trinket tags
Gather trinkets you have in your craft cupboard and turn them into magical little tags for your holiday gifts. Mini trees, pom poms, bells, glitter stars, ornaments and tiny rolls of paper bejewel plain tags giving them a special handmade touch perfect for the holidays.
How to:
Add strips of Washi tape and book pages to tags then top with trinkets. Use a glue gun to attach.
A living gift tag
Turn simple sprigs of fresh greenery into a naturally fragrant gift tag.
How to:
Use a piece of festive Washi or other decorative tape to adhere a sprig of greenery to a tag. Try gathering pieces of greenery into a small bunch tied together with twine. Thread the twine through the hole and secure it on the back of the tag with another piece of Washi tape.
Ornament tag
A gift tag that doubles as a gift. We turned a plain ornament from a craft store into a pretty bauble ready to hang on the tree, added a decorated manila tag and voila! A “gift” tag that keeps on giving.
How to:
Fill a glass ornament from a craft store with thin strips of book pages and tinsel. Carefully squeeze the ornament hook to remove it from the ball and fill. Replace the hook and add a handmade tag embellished with Washi tape and strips of book paper. Attach the tag to the ornament.
