NOTICE TO SUBSCRIBERS
With the introduction of Digital Access, a new paid digital subscription program that allows readers to receive full access to the Toronto Star’s website, its mobile website and its tablet and smartphone apps, the Toronto Star is making important changes in the terms and conditions of its subscription agreements.
Home delivery subscribers who pay for their print subscription through an automatic monthly payment or who have paid for one year in advance can receive Digital Access free if they sign up by Dec. 31, 2013. Readers who do not pay for a home delivery subscription through an automatic monthly payment will be able to add Digital Access for $4.99 a month plus tax.
Readers who do not subscribe to the Toronto Star’s print edition will be able to obtain a Digital Accessonly subscription for 99 cents, plus tax, for the first month. Each additional month will be priced at $9.99, plus tax. All subscribers to Digital Access will also receive the Toronto Star’s “Replica Edition,” an exact digital copy of the daily printed paper with added interactive features. Also, the Toronto Star is changing its policy on vacation stops. Instead of extending a print subscription, subscribers will receive a daily “Replica Edition” copy of the Toronto Star by email for the first 21 days of a vacation stop. For the portion of vacation stops greater than 21 days, print subscribers will have the option of having their subscription extended or continuing to receive the replica edition.
