This new docuseries revisits a crime from the perspective of the accused party as he or she takes the stand, with each onehour episode covering from the first-hand defendant testimony to the often contentious cross examination and, ultimately, the final verdict. The premiere focuses on the murder of an Arizona businessman, whose body is found in his bathroom. His friends quickly steer detectives to his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Jodi Arias. Facing the death penalty, Arias claims self-defense during 18 harrowing days on the stand. Dan Abrams hosts.

Jay’s (Utkarsh Ambudkar) sister Bela (guest star Punam Patel) comes to visit him and Sam (Rose McIver) to lick her wounds from a recent romantic disappointment in the new episode “Jay’s Sister.” While she’s there, Jay and Sam are startled to discover she’s communicating with someone they know on a dating app. Brandon Scott Jones, Rebecca Wisocky, Devan Chandler Long, Danielle Pinnock and Richie Moriarty also star.

Kat (Mayim Bialik) struggles to find a meaningful way to celebrate an important anniversary as this sitcom settles into its regular Thursday berth after last Sunday’s premiere. Meanwhile, Carter and Randi (Julian Gant, Kyla Pratt), who both are “alpha” personalities, continue to feel their way through their new relationship, in the new “Call Me by My Middle Name.” Christopher Rivas guest stars; Swoosie Kurtz and Cheyenne Jackson also star.

Amy (Eliza Coupe) is stricken with an acute case of survivor’s guilt that leaves her paranoid that death is lurking around every corner as this new comedy series moves into its regular time period with the new “My Friend Died!.” Elsewhere, Jodie’s (Ginnifer Goodwin) relationship to her trainer seems to take on a new perspective, and Sarah (Maggie Q) gets bullied by her coworkers for not slacking enough in her new “low stress” job. Tommy Dewey and JT Neal also star.

Writer-director James Gunn created this TV series spinoff from “The Suicide Squad” with John Cena reprising his violent title character from that movie hit, a merciless killer (real name Christopher Smith) who believes in achieving “peace” at any cost. Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma and Chukwudi Iwuji make up the supporting ensemble, with Lochlyn Munro and Christopher Heyerdahl in recurring roles. Another new episode immediately follows.
