EDWARDS Sharon Thomasina

Sharon T. Edwards, 61, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-l. Dumont University Hospital Centre on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Born in St. John’s, NL, she was the daughter of the late Thomas “Tom” and Marion (Power) Ryan. Sharon’s life was defined by how she cared for everyone around her. She was focused on caring for her family and friends and often would display that in unexpected and funny ways. Always the spark in the room she loved to laugh and spend time with those she loved. Sharon will be sadly missed by her husband, Kirk Edwards; daughter, Emily Edwards (Ben Hollis) and stepdaughter, Katie Edwards (Scott Macdonald); sisters, Maureen Brake (Leo) and Geri Oliver; brotherin-law, Craig Firing; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Betty Firing. She will be also missed by her lifelong friends Geri and Vera. Thank you also to Joanne, Beth and Joe for being there for her during the past year and half. Your love made a big difference in her life. The family would like to extend thanks and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at the George Dumont hospital for their care of Sharon, especially the nurses of the palliative care unit who showed tremendous passion and care for Sharon. Visitation was held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Arrangements in St. John’s, NL under the direction of Caul’s Funeral Home, Lemarchant Rd., St. John’s, with visitation hours on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass to be celebrated from St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, St. John’s, NL on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 9:30 am. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Mount Pearl, NL.
