Government House Events Calendar
On Friday, June 30 at 2:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable Frank F. Fagan, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Her Honour Patricia Fagan will host a reception at Government House in honour of the international leaders and senior members attending the Salvation Army Congress and commissioning weekend in St. John’s.
At 7:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable Frank F. Fagan, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Honorary Colonel of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, and Her Honour Patricia Fagan will attend the First Battalion, Royal Newfoundland Regiment mess dinner at Pleasantville to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont-hamel.
On Saturday, July 1 at 8:30 a.m., Their Honours will attend the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Field of Honour, where His Honour will lay a wreath. At 10:55 a.m., Their Honours will attend the Memorial Day Service at the National War Memorial in St. John’s. His Honour will lay the first wreath. Her Honour will lay a wreath on behalf of the Women’s Patriotic Association (1914-1918). After the ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor will take the salute, at the courthouse on Water Street, from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and other units of the Canadian Armed Forces and from members of the Royal Canadian Legion and other organizations on parade.
Immediately following the ceremony at the War Memorial, Their Honours will host a reception at Government House for invited guests.
At 2:30 p.m., Their Honours will attend the Service of Remembrance at the Caribou Memorial Veterans’ Pavilion.
