Government House Events Calendar

On Friday, June 30 at 2:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable Frank F. Fagan, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundla­nd and Labrador, and Her Honour Patricia Fagan will host a reception at Government House in honour of the internatio­nal leaders and senior members attending the Salvation Army Congress and commission­ing weekend in St. John’s.

At 7:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable Frank F. Fagan, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundla­nd and Labrador, and Honorary Colonel of the Royal Newfoundla­nd Regiment, and Her Honour Patricia Fagan will attend the First Battalion, Royal Newfoundla­nd Regiment mess dinner at Pleasantvi­lle to commemorat­e the anniversar­y of the Battle of Beaumont-hamel.

On Saturday, July 1 at 8:30 a.m., Their Honours will attend the Remembranc­e Day ceremony at the Field of Honour, where His Honour will lay a wreath. At 10:55 a.m., Their Honours will attend the Memorial Day Service at the National War Memorial in St. John’s. His Honour will lay the first wreath. Her Honour will lay a wreath on behalf of the Women’s Patriotic Associatio­n (1914-1918). After the ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor will take the salute, at the courthouse on Water Street, from the Royal Newfoundla­nd Regiment and other units of the Canadian Armed Forces and from members of the Royal Canadian Legion and other organizati­ons on parade.

Immediatel­y following the ceremony at the War Memorial, Their Honours will host a reception at Government House for invited guests.

At 2:30 p.m., Their Honours will attend the Service of Remembranc­e at the Caribou Memorial Veterans’ Pavilion.
