• “Wake Up” at The Suncor Energy Fluvarium on March 30-31 at 1:30 p.m. The winter is coming to an end and we can just start to see nature getting reading for spring. But who is waking up, who is still asleep? Who is building nests? Who is hunting again? Let’s discover who is getting up and on the move despite the snow.

• Wesley United Church will hold an Easter Saturday communion service on March 30 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. Persons needing transporta­tion to and from the Church should call the Church office at 579-3682. All are welcome.

Monday, April 1

• The Alzheimer Society will be relocating their office on April 1, 2013 and we are seeking the generosity of volunteers to help with our new location. The new space requires flooring, paint and plastering and we are seeking your generosity in donations of flooring for 1,000 square feet, paint and accessorie­s. Your generosity will help us continue our mission to help those who rely upon our programs and services. Your support would be very welcomed.

• The Kirk Concert Series presents a classical community concert on Monday, April 1 at 8 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyteri­an Church featuring violin, piano duet, saxophone and organ. Entrance is by donation.

Tuesday, April 2

• Fluvarium’s Nature Connection­s Spring Camp — April 2-5, for kids in Grades 2-5. Make lots of fun new connection­s to the Freshwater Habitats around the Suncor Energy Fluvarium. Nature Connection­s Spring Camp is the perfect choice for the budding naturalist or animal lover. With small group sizes fun and adventure await. There are four days available with only 10 camper slots per session. Camp is $40 per day or $140 to attend all four. Each day will be with a different Fluvarium educator as counselor and each will have a different theme. Camp days are on a first come first served basis and fill fast. • NL Moves is a monthly workshop series by DanceNL designed to expose the public to many different dance genres while promoting wellness and physical activity. NL Moves sessions are happening every month throughout Newfoundla­nd until May, 2013 and all workshops are free. Coming up in April, Butoh Inspired Movement on April 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Vanda Maunder Dance Studio, 59 Farm Road, Brigus. Using vocabulary drawn from the modern Japanese dance form Butoh, students will explore what it means to be present in the body.

• After a sold-out screening at the St. John’s Internatio­nal Women’s Film Festival, “The Disappeare­d” is back. “The Disappeare­d” is opening at Empire Theatres Stu- dio 12 at the Avalon Mall on April 19 for a two-week run. “The Disappeare­d” tells the story of six men who are stranded in two dories in the middle of the North Atlantic. Battling both themselves and each other, they manage to paddle hundreds of miles to return home safely.

• St. Andrew’s Presbyteri­an Church, will be holding its annual spring sale and morning coffee, Saturday, April 20 in the church hall, the corner of Longs Hill and Queen’s Road. Stalls will include baked goods, jams and jellies, crafts, books, plants and white elephant table. Tickets are $5 which include the admission of 50 cents, and a sit-down cup of tea, coffee and yummy edibles. Doors will open at 10 a.m.
