EmRat disses men who `don't know how to handle' strong gals after Pete Davidson fling
Emily Ratajkowski is heading into the New Year looking for a man who isn't scared to date a strong-willed woman.
The actress and model, 31, rang in 2023 with friends during a getaway to the Cayman Islands with a pal, telling People that she is “single and totally happy” after she and former Saturday Night Live funnyman Pete Davidson ended their whirlwind fling after two months of dating.
“She enjoys her independence,” the insider added.
During a segment of her High Low podcast this week alongside SI Swimsuit model Olivia Ponton, Ratajkowski said that she dislikes men who think they want to be with a “strong woman” because oftentimes “they don't know how to handle it.”
“Slowly, they get emasculated and they don't know what to do with those feelings and then they resent you and start to tear you down.”
Ratajkowski added that she “can understand dating women” because there's a mutual respect that doesn't always exist in a “heteronormative” relationship.
“There might be competition … but it doesn't feel like somebody's taking something away from someone else,” she continued.
After splitting with her husband Sebastian BearMcClard in September, Ratajkowski was linked to Brad Pitt before her brief dalliance with Davidson, who broke up with Kim Kardashian last summer.
They were photographed together at a New York Knicks game and spotted kissing out in public last fall. The pair also celebrated his 29th birthday together in November.
“They are going strong and getting a little more serious,” a source told People in early December, adding, “They have a love of the East Coast in common and similar vibes personality-wise and stylewise. And it's always the same thing with him: he really makes her laugh and keeps things fun.”
But just last week, the pair reportedly called it quits, with a source telling People Ratajkowski had moved on. “She doesn't have plans to see Pete again,” they said. “She had fun with him, but she realized she didn't want it to become anything else. She likes her life as it is.”
“Their fling has moved into the friend zone,” a separate insider told Page Six, adding the relationship's hasty end was “fine with both of them.”
But Ratajkowski likely won't stay single for long. She announced recently that she is trying out a dating app.
“I was like, `F--- it,' ” Ratajkowski explained. “I was feeling defiant because so many people told me not to get it.”
