Caudalie Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Essence and Radia

- Aleesha Harris

What it is: A line of skin care from the French beauty brand Caudalie that harnesses the power of grapes to perfect skin.

The Caudalie Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Essence works to brighten skin by sweeping away dead skin cells through the use of glycolic acid. The formula is fortified with Caudalie’s organic grape water to soothe and hydrate skin, while white peony extract works to “enhance luminosity.”

The toner-like potion can be used day and night to balance skin and boost smoothness.

The Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is an oil-free serum that purportedly improves the overall appearance of dark spots and boosts radiance. Boasting a high concentration of “viniferine” the white serum also promises to lessen the appearance of acne marks and scars. Suitable for all skin types. What we say: You know a product works when a co-worker comments on your skin the first morning after testing. The reaction? “Glowing.” Now that’s proof.

And that’s exactly what happened after our tester tried the essence and serum together. Applied both morning and night on a freshly cleansed face — the routine should be cleanse, essence, serum, moisturizer — the products yielded brighter skin that looked more even and smooth.

Our tester’s only complaint? The milky serum’s smell was a tad strong.

After one week of night and day use, the overall effect was a subtle improvement on acne scarring, but it was the noticeably dramatic change in skin’s texture and tone that had us reaching for these two Caudalie bottles again and again. Where to get it: beautymark.ca; ca.caudalie.com What it will cost you: $50 (Essence); $89 (Serum)
