Mike Robinson ends NCAA lacrosse career on a high note

- MIKE DAVIES EXAMINER SPORTS DIRECTOR

Peterborough’s Mike Robinson will end his NCAA lacrosse career as the all-time leading goal scorer at a university which boasts alumni like John Grant Jr. and Curtis Dickson.

Robinson’s 185 goals eclipses the University of Delaware Blue Hens record of 180 set last year by his former teammate, Ty Kurtz. When Kurtz set his mark in April 2023 it eclipsed the record of 162 Dickson held for 13 years. Dickson, who stars for the National Lacrosse League’s San Diego Seals, played two seasons for the Peterborough Century 21 Lakers.

Robinson set the mark with his third straight four-goal game on April 26 in Delaware’s 11-10 loss to Towson in their final regular season game.

Robinson added to the mark, scoring a hat trick, including the overtime winner, in the Colonial Athletic Association semifinal, a 13-12 win over Fairfield at Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md., on May 2.

He scored his final goal in a 15-6 loss to Towson in the conference final on Saturday.

Robinson, a prospect for the Premier Lacrosse League draft and property of the Lakers, has 40 goals and 15 assists for 55 points in 14 games this season, ranking 38th in NCAA Division 1 men’s lacrosse points per game and 33rd overall in points.

Peterborough’s Owen Hiltz has 33 goals and 24 assists for 57 points in 15 games for the University of Syracuse, ranking 43rd in points per game and 37th in overall points.

Peterborough’s Carter Page scored 40 goals in 15 games for St. Joseph’s to tie Robinson for 24th overall in goals scored. Robinson ranks 13th in goals per game and Page 25th.
