Yoga Festival returns to Del Crary Park Saturday
Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Del Crary Park, is the annual Peterborough Yoga Festival. With a variety of different types of yoga, workshops, a family and kids area, wholesome foods, kirtan, stand up paddleboard yoga and a Healing Garden, this festival has something for everyone including those new to yoga or those who are experienced yogis.
The goal of the festival is to provide an atmosphere that revives and rejuvenates, enriches and enlivens, and reminds us that together we can celebrate our love of community. Admission is $25 in advance or $30 at the gate. This event is a fundraiser for the United Way Peterborough. For more information, including where to purchase advance tickets, please visit www.peterboroughyogafestival.com.
Co-Housing
Co-housing is similar to condominium living with small, independent apartments, but based on the idea of an intentional community with substantial shared resources including a common house with a kitchen and dining room for regular shared meals. It appeals to some as it may permit them to age in place and to others with young children who like knowing their neighbours.
If co-housing appeals to you, plan to attend What is Co-Housing? Perspectives on an Emerging Community, which takes place Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The evening will feature an introduction by Scott Donovan, a local architect and time for questions. This event takes place at the Gathering Room at The Mount Community Centre, 1545 Monaghan Rd. For more information please email scott.peterborough@gmail.com or aslavin@trentu.ca.
