The annual Peterborough Home, Outdoor and Design Show takes place Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre, 151 Lansdowne St. W.

Hosted by the City of Peterborough, the show features 100 exhibitors in categories such as home building, renovation, interior design, building materials, kitchen, bath, storage, flooring, lawn, garden, landscaping, heating, cooling, decks, fences, barbecues, automotive, and more.

This year the show will feature Paul Lafrance, host of HGTV’s Home to Win, Custom Built, Decked Out, Disaster Decks, Deck Wars and judge of Canada’s Handyman Challenge. Lafrance will host an open presentation for show attendees on Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by a meet and greet.

“This is the longest running home show in the Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes region, estimated to be going for over 50 years,” says John Salfi, programs and promotions co-ordinator. “It is the first show of the season and marks the official start of the spring season. Businesses and vendors showcase their best in products, installation and design.”

Local exhibitors are home and outdoor experts who can provide advice, inspiration and solutions for all of your project and design needs.

“We see return exhibitors who are successful from their participation in the show, however each year there is enough of a turnover which allows for the injection of new categories and businesses to showcase their area of expertise,” he says.

The show is meant to help residents embarking on home improvement projects to gather information and get their questions answered by business specialists to bring their projects to fruition.

Admission prices are adults, $5, children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. For more information, please visit www.memorialcentre.ca/ peterborough _home_ outdoor___ design_show.htm
