Singers ring in season with food drive concert
Another Livestock is in the books, but the Niagara Falls music festival isn’t done with
2018 yet.
A Christmas fundraiser for Project SHARE will gather three of the region’s top female singers at Taps Brewery downtown Dec. 16. The ‘pay what you can’ event – with a suggested donation of $10 – will feature Nicole Cerminara, Chloe Rabideau and Valerie Borghesi.
“When I was asked to perform, I was so honoured to do what I love for a cause I believe in,” says Borghesi. “I feel fortunate and blessed to share new music that I wrote specifically for the show.”
The Niagara Falls singer, who performed at September’s Niagara Music Awards, will debut her song “Femme Fatale Jingle Bell” during the fundraiser.
Livestock founder Rafik Guirguis has been especially close to Project SHARE ever since he was forced to use the Niagara Falls food bank during Livestock’s early years, when he was struggling to make ends meet. He was apprehensive at first, but then saw other people going through a bad stretch, who just needed help.
With Livestock now an established success, expanding to three days this year, Guirguis is committed to giving back.
“I’ve lived on Queen Street for a couple years, I know what that side of life is like,” he says. “It’s my way of contributing back to the pool and doing it by way of what I know best, which is music and arts and culture.”
Guirguis is hoping to raise at least $1,000 from the show, which runs from 2 to 6 p.m. To reserve tables, phone 289-477-1010. Taps is located at 4680 Queen St.
