NEW GLASGOW — Christine Adelaide “Chris” Murray, age 105, of Glen Haven Manor, formerly of MacNeil St., New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Catherine (Jordan) Williams.

Chris is survived by three sons: Del (Mary) of Little Harbour; Barry (Ruth) of New Glasgow; and Kim (Linda) of Stellarton; five grandchild­ren: Jace (Norma), Denver; Jill MacDonald, New Glasgow; Beth (Brian) Rehill, Antigonish; Mitch (Samantha), Gainesvill­e; Logan, Halifax; six great-grandchild­ren and one great-great-granddaugh­ter; several cousins; many nieces and nephews; special niece, Norma Simpson and dear friend Gerri Cantley.

Besides her parents, Chris was predecease­d by her husband John Calvin “Jack” Murray, two brothers: Gordon ³Buss² and Del, and her beloved sister, Charlotte (Walter) Withers.

As a young woman, Chris was an employee of Woolworths and the Mattress Factory. After the death of her husband, she worked for many years as a seamstress for Cameron and Fraser Ltd. Chris was a faithful member of First United Church, Trenton, giving of her time and baking talents. She taught Sunday school for many years, was a member of the UCW, and a life member of the Mary Unit.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff for the care and fellowship Chris received while a resident of the Manor. Special thanks to Dr. Spencer Barclay and Dr. Peter Lee, for the care they gave Chris. We, the family, are grateful for the long life of dear Chrissie, and the love and encouragem­ent she so freely gave. She was well loved and will be well remembered.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10, in First United Church, High St., Trenton, with Rev. Wade Reppert officiatin­g. Spring burial will be in Church Brook Cemetery, Little Harbour. Family flowers only, please.
