ISSARD, Kenneth Alfred

-

We, the family, are deeply saddened by the sudden unexpected passing of Ken who was called by his "Mommy " on the 16th anniversary of her passing, November 7, 2021, from his home in Middle Sackville to join her. Born on June 6, 1944 in Halifax to the late Fredrick and Pearl (Diggs) Issard, Ken was a hard and a very particular worker quoting at times "If you are going to do a job do it right". He held as many as three jobs at once with his main one being an employee in the Camp Hill Hospital Housekeeping Department retiring in 2009 after 30 years of service. He was somewhat of a distant but very proud father of son, Ottis (Wonda) Williams; and daughters, Kimberly (Richard) Hoadley and Aretha (Tiffany) Williams; brother, Fred and halfbrother, Christopher Smith; sisters, Deborah (Bob) Somers, Brenda (Wayne) Letwyn and half-sisters, Cathy and Michelle (Issard); grandchildren, Chimera, Charita, Naomi, Brittney and Caleb; an uncle, two aunts; several nephews, nieces and cousins. He will be missed by his companion pet dog, Mandy who when barking alerted the neighbors for which we are thankful and grateful for their concern. Besides his parents, uncles, aunts and cousins, Ken was predeceased by his partner, Doris "Dorie" Langille in 2016. There will be no funeral but out of respect for all who knew Ken a visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, November 20th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions proof of vaccination along with a valid ID and masks are required. Words of comfort can be made online by visiting the Halifax chapel at: www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice if you wish.
