Age 75, peacefully passed away on May 8, 2024 at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Ontario. Lorna was born and raised in Pugwash. She moved to Sarnia, Ontario in 1970. Lorna constantly inspired those around her and was a role model to many. Her generosity and kindness extended across every aspect of her life. Lorna was hardworkin­g and devoted to her family, friends, neighbours, and members of the Point Edward and Sarnia communitie­s. From small acts of kindness to remarkable acts of strength, Lorna put others first every day. She loved to dance, tend to her garden, complete puzzles and above all else, spend time with her children and grandchild­ren. Lorna was a phenomenal cook, with the ability to whip up a five-star meal with whatever was on hand. Her sweet personalit­y will forever be cherished and cannot be captured in these few words. Lorna was predecease­d by her loving husband and best friend of over 50 years, Larry Mackenzie, with whom she built a wonderful life. Lorna will be missed by her loving siblings, Patricia (Jack) Briggins, William “Bill” Williams, Gloria Merlin, Gordon Williams, Gene Williams, Mary (Larry) Oja, David (Gail) Williams, Ben (Gwen) Williams, Andrew (Irene) Williams, Susan (Larry) Rushton; and sister-in-law Beverley Williams. Lorna was predecease­d by her parents, Sherman and Violent (Hamilton) Williams; her brothers, Sherman and Alvin Williams; sister-in-law Heather Williams; and brother-in-law Paul Merlin. Devoted mother to Paul Mackenzie, Lisa (Brian) Macdonell, Julie (Shawn) Robinson, and Holly (Karmen) Adams. Beloved Grandmothe­r (Grammie) to Kate and Sara Macdonell, Myah and Allie Robinson, and Konnor and Keira Adams. She will also be dearly missed by nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, friends, neighbours, and admirers. We will continue to remember her as the selfless, strong, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmothe­r, sister, and friend that she was. Cremation has taken place. A celebratio­n of Lorna’s life will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. To reflect Lorna’s passion for supporting those in need, sympathy may be expressed through donation to River City Vineyard or a charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home).
