-

It is far too early and with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Sonny Goodman known to many as Tug or Tugboat, age 53, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Sonny was born on March 2, 1970, to mother, Mary Young and father, David Goodman. He is survived by his son, David-lee, mother, Mary (Mel); brother, Dale (Lisa); nephew, Tyler (Cassandra); great nephew, Landen; partner, Patricia Westhaver; cousins, aunts and uncles and he was godfather to many. He was predeceased by his father, David Goodman. Sonny will be remembered as one of a kind who always wore a smile on his face. He touched the lives of those who knew him with his infectious laughter, big personality and will to live life happy. He loved hanging out with his son David-lee, whom he was most proud of and talked about all the time not to mention looks just like him. Sonny was intelligent, caring, witty, competitive, loved music, racing, hockey, fishing, washer toss and camping. He was a beloved member of Parkville Campground family and the families of so many others. Sonny was a big part of our lives and any community he walked in. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. We will have our memories, but everyone leaves something behind when they pass, we now have Sonny’s (Tug, Tugboat) beautiful spirt with us all and you can be sure he will be more loving, and witty not to mention more competitive as he fishes the shores in Heaven. In keeping with Sonny’s wishes he will be cremated, and a private family burial service will be held in the Spring. A Celebration of Life will be held on his birthday March 2, 2024 at the Purcell’s Cove Social Club from 3p.m. to 9p.m. The family would like to express our deepest appreciation and love for the overwhelming outpouring of support and love from family, friends and the community during our time of loss.
