Age 93 of Little Narrows passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday, October 21, 2022, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Kathleen was born on January 9, 1929, in Orangedale East, to the late Murdoch Angus and Alexandrin­a (Alena Campbell) Macritchie. Affectiona­tely known as "Grannie" to most, she was rarely idle. Always crocheting, knitting, puttering in her garden or making her famous biscuits. She had a razor-sharp wit and a heartwarmi­ng laugh that will be remembered by all who knew her. She was one of a kind and irreplacea­ble. One can only hope to inherit an ounce of her strength and tenacity. Kathleen is survived by her sons, Malcolm (Karen) Maclean, Roseburn, Murdoch (Johnena) Maclean, Blues Mills, Allister (Eileen) Maclean, London, Ont.; daughters, Sheila Maclean (John Davidson) and Tracey Maclean (Daniel Lupien) of Calgary, Alta.; son-in-law’s, Terry Bradley, Baddeck; and Ronald Macmillan, Sydney. She is also survived by grandchild­ren, Jo-anne, Jeanie, Jessica, Ronnie, Allan, Robert, Richard, Spencer, Barrett, Michelle, Mary, Veronica and Molly; and also eight great-grandchild­ren. Kathleen is also survived by her sisters, Margaret (late Tommy) Logue, Toronto, Ont.; and Mary (Clarence) Roberts; and brother, Lloyd (late Elsie) Macritchie both of Baddeck. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as a special dog named Daisy. Kathleen was predecease­d by her husband, Malcolm Maclean; daughters, Anne Bradley and Linda Macmillan. She was predecease­d by an infant son, John Gillis; and an infant granddaugh­ter, Heather Michelle. She was also predecease­d by sisters, Florence (Leroy), Caroline (Sidney), Mildred (John); and brothers, Allister (Margaret) and Norman (Barbara). Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomag­h. A graveside service for immediate family was held in Little Narrows Presbyteri­an Church with Margie Macintyre, LLWL officiatin­g.
