Pet of the week: Louna

-

Louna (#9407) is a very special little girl! With her sparkling green eyes and her magnificent silky & long fur full of beautiful mixed colours (honey, white, orangey & black) this seductive damsel doesn’t go unnoticed! Louna is approximately three years old and is in excellent health.

The pretty kitty was abandoned at the shelter at the end of May 2023 as her human was moving to new lodgings that didn’t accept cats. Louna was very disoriented and frustrated when she arrived and even after almost a year being with us, she still hates sharing her space with the other 20 some cats in the common room. This living arrangement causes her a lot of stress and affects her mood. We wanted to see the evolution of her personality before putting Louna up for adoption but we are now sure that she will certainly be much happier in a calmer and friendlier context. We believe she can be a great companion with the right person(s).

Louna has a strong personality and is quite selective with whom she shares her affection; she likes you or she doesn’t. She does however actively seek attention and love with people but she decides with whom and when! Naughty and sometimes temperamental, you can pet and caress her gently but must be careful as she doesn’t like being touched lower back/ butt nor does she want to be held in your arms. If Louna doesn’t like how you touch her, she will let you know by howling loudly and/or by swatting you with her paws (careful, she can claw occasionally). She also enjoys jumping on your back if you bend over close to her... Louna is full of surprises!

This little ballerina is intelligent, curious, active and agile; she can easily jump on top shelves and on counters.

When she knows better and is comfortable around you, she will come greet you and brush herself fetchingly against your legs, staring straight into your eyes. Louna is an exclusively indoor cat and must live in a tranquil environment but needs access to various stimulae: a cat tree or shelves so she can birdwatch & look outdoors by the window or patio door, toys and interactive games, background music, etc...the darling loves cat treats; it’s the best way to create a positive connection with her during your first interactions together.

We are searching for patient and tolerant adopters who have experience with cats possessing somewhat complex personalities and who can understand the language of felines. Her ideal adopters must be able to adapt to her vivacity as well as to her need for attention while managing some occasionally unpredictable mood swings. Therefore, Louna must find a home without children or other animals to minimize stressful situations that would be detrimental to her wellbeing. As she is dominant towards other cats, we also want to avoid potential cohabitation issues.

We ardently wish that Louna can find her human(s) who will accept her quirks and will treat her with kindness. Our dazzling furry Diva deserves to know the love and security of a good home for the rest of her life.
