The Hut was rockin’ on St. Patrick’s Day

- Jessie Pelletier Steve Aulis

As tradition dictates and for years, we have celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at The Hut. It’s the most fun day of the year and as they say, that day everyone is Irish.

Once again people were able to count on our local musicians to entertain them and make them dance. These guys and girls are very generous.

Year after year these musicians are on hand to celebrate. They give their time and their talent, and everyone benefits from it. Some musicians even played for two hours straight while still smiling.

The music began with Janice Graham on piano. She has been present and ready to play for many years now. She is wonderfully talented and always in a good mood.

The Country Swingers then took the stage over, featuring Dave Bessant, Ronnie Hazeltine, William Fisk. These guys are always appreciated for their great repertoire.

In charge of the entertainment all day was Philip Patton and his son Adam who played drums for many bands. Nina Stubbert is also behind the organization and very attentive, making sure musicians all get their turn.

The whole thing is a great jam session. This year Bobbi Dee, Daniel Togo Bélanger, Steve Aulis, the beautiful Amy Jones, Hakim, Gerry Goodsell, Jonathan Little, Brian and Chris Curtis. So much wonderful talent and great voices.

I sure hope I am not forgetting anyone. All these guys deserve a big thank you because without them it wouldn’t be much of a party. People were on the dance floor, and they danced like nobody was watching.

Many were sporting green sweaters and t-shirts and hats and cute messages on being Irish. I would love to see more of our local musicians join in the party next year and I’d love if they would serve some Irish Stew. I am not complaining because it was a perfect day for everyone in attendance, and in their name, I need to thank our wonderful musicians. It seems like they’re always there for the cause. People have gathered enough good memories till next year.
