- Lampe Tillotson VTC Scholarship

North Hatley Village Improvement Scholarship

My parents, Lori and Mike Page, raised me to always help others, to live with love and kindness. Being the second oldest of nine children, I grew up helping around the house by doing chores, helping with homework, watching the kids, and washing many, many dishes. My nana, Sandra Card, has demonstrated what it is to be someone who gives their heart in all that they do. I’ve admired her for that and want to live like that. I try to help people in everything I do, because that is what makes me happy. I believe that our purpose on earth is to love and help others, and in so doing, leave this world a bit better off than when we came. This need to serve others combined with my insatiable thirst for knowledge and fascination for the human body has driven me to want to become a doctor. I think that by being in the health

Lampe Tillotson VTC Scholarship

I am 20 years old and from Ayers Cliff. I am currently studying at LVTC to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. After I finish my program in June, I plan to further my knowledge in the health field by becoming an RN. I originally signed up for the LPN course because I did not know what I wanted to do with my life career wise but through studying at LVTC and working at Grace Village, I have found a passion for the career and the desire to help people. Thank you very much for this scholarship. The money will go to good use, towards continuing my educational goals.

Ever since my view of the world switched from that of child’s innocent eyes, I’ve known my one purpose and desire in life was to be a light and help others. Determined, I began to dedicate my time to my studies in order to achieve my goals. At the age of seventeen, I started my first job as a caregiver to support myself and started to build connections that would last a lifetime. All the while, I was studying full time towards becoming a licensed practical nurse. It has since then been a journey full of trials and tribulations. However, my priority has always been to complete my education and I intend to push every limit in order to do so. In a story, there is always characters that assist the protagonist in overcoming obstacles along the journey. In my story, the LAMPE foundation has played a huge role at aiding me move towards success and allowed me to overcome obstacles along the way. I would like to say how grateful I am for the recognition and opportunity given to me as a young professional. Receiving the SHF scholarship was not only an achievement but a huge relief as well. I will now have the ability to

take some extra time off during the week to study all while being able to support myself financially. The financial weight being lifted off my shoulders will really allow me to focus on my studies and prioritize my education. For this, I would also like to thank the faculty of the Sherbrooke hospital. My journey as a young professional has yet to be lived out. I aspire to pursue future studies in the medical field for years to come in order to be able to give back to the community and give people the light they deserve.
