In September the leaves will begin to change, always an exhilarating time in the Townships as bursts of colours begin to appear! Our goal is to fill the month with as much fun, socialization, and enjoyment as possible! We will play lots of games this month like the Over Under game, Team Bocce, and more! A new advanced exercise class will begin on Monday for residents looking for a more intense workout regime, and seniors from the community will join as well! We will have a Compression Stocking Workshop at the beginning of the month which will remind us how important stockings can be no matter your stage of life. As always, we will have delicious food activities like Making mulled apple cider, Apple Dumpling Day, and the Chips & Dip Taste Test. We will have our own small Oktoberfest activity with some traditional food and some fun games and trivia in the Grand Hall. We will be taking several outings including a trip to the Lennoxville Quilt Show, and a trip for a tour and delicious pie at the Gros Pierre Apple Orchard! A big highlight of the month will be the Huntingville Block Party on rue Pleasant View, which we hope many residents will venture out and enjoy! September is a beautiful month of transition, and we are all looking forward to everything the month has to offer!

August proved to be the perfect final month of summer! We enjoyed all that our vibrant gardens had to offer, harvesting vegetables, soaking in sunshine, and smelling fragrant flowers! At the beginning of the month we enjoyed root beer floats and 50s music in the Bistro, reminiscing about the songs and the delicious treat. Speaking of reminiscing, we were thrilled to host a vintage car show in our front parking lot. Many of our residents shared stories about similar cars they drove and grew up with as we socialized and shared coffee in the sun among the cars. We continued our Sing-along series with a tribute to the Queens of Country and enjoyed a special piano and violin concert by Kristina and Sally Song. We all got to try something new when we made Ice Cream in a Ziploc bag, which proved to be not only very fun, but also delicious. Things always taste better when you make them yourselves! We all met in the garden one evening for a fresh corn on the cob and barbequed hot dog supper where we listened to some good picnic music and visited with friends, topping it all off with ice cream sandwiches! To celebrate Toasted Marshmallow Day, several of us spent an evening out in the garden roasting marshmallows, making s’mores, and telling stories around the fire. To finish off the month we took our annual trip to fulfill a Township’s tradition of eating at Wood’s Snack Bar! August was wonderful and we are excited for what September, and the Autumn season, will bring to Grace Village!
