Pats fans, it’s time to toss those teddy bears for a worthy cause
Saturday’s plush toy drive will benefit The Salvation Army, Caring Hearts Camp
The Regina Pats will play host to Teddy Bear Toss Night on Saturday, when the Red Deer Rebels visit the Brandt Centre for a WHL contest.
Fans are asked to bring a new plush stuffed toy to the game. After the Pats’ first goal, fans will be asked to toss the teddy bears onto the ice.
The airborne donations will be collected and subsequently presented to children at the Regina General Hospital and Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. The teddy bears will also benefit The Salvation Army and Regina Palliative Care’s Caring Hearts Camp.
Global TV, the game sponsor, will have a limited number of stuffed toys for sale at Saturday’s game. Proceeds will go to The Salvation Army.
As well, the Pats’ store at the Brandt Centre will sell a limited number of stuffed toys modelled after the team’s mascot K9 on game day for $15 each.
