Being at the top of a highrise condo isn’t for everyone. For those who enjoy being more grounded, main-floor suite 101 offers a special treasure: a large private garden terrace and a walkout to a gated courtyard.

Listing agent Aaron Kroll says, “Given the current COVID-19 situation, main-floor living has seen much more appeal than pre-pandemic. Advantages are direct access to the outside from the suite, extra outdoor private living space and less reliance and waiting for elevators.”

This 180-square-foot terrace has built-in planters, outdoor lighting, an automated irrigation system and a brick wall for privacy. The courtyard is gated and is accessible only to residents of 33 Delisle, he says. The courtyard has gardens, a fountain, an outdoor kitchen area with barbecues and dining areas with tales and chairs.

Suite 101 has about 1,000 square feet of renovated indoor space with a clean fresh design that’s airy and bright. Kroll says the ground-floor units have 10-foot ceilings, which “gives the condo an extra airy and open feeling.”

The custom European-style kitchen has a gas cooktop, stainless steel appliances, a breakfast bar and glossy white cabinetry.

The primary bedroom has a large closet and a fourpiece ensuite bathroom. The den has french doors to separate it from the open-concept living/dining area.

The kitchen and bathrooms were renovated in 2016 and 2017. Kroll says the best feature is the custom built-ins (a living room entertainment unit and an office desk) that were completed in 2018. “Not only do they make the condo feel as a one-of-a-kind unit, but they also add ample storage space,” he says.

Other highlights include LED pot lights throughout and two bathrooms.

There was a lot of interest, with more than 30 showings in the first week. Kroll says, “It appealed mainly to empty nesters, downsizers looking to be in a centrally located area of the city close to amenities.”

Other features in the condo building, constructed in 2002, include a concierge, an exercise room, an indoor pool and parking for visitors. It’s close to a hospital, park, public transit, recreation centre, schools and the St. Clair subway station.
