What’s open/ closed on Thanksgiving Monday
Many businesses and government services will be closed or operate on different hours on Monday, Thanksgiving Day.
Here is a partial list of those affected: All banks will be closed; All federal and provincial government offices will be closed;
Most City of Montreal departments will be closed;
Boroughs that have garbage and recycling collection scheduled for Mondays will be served, however;
Parking meters remain operational during the holiday and parking signs must be obeyed;
Most supermarkets will be open, but operating hours might vary; Most stores will be open; All Société des alcools du Québec stores will be open during regular hours unless the outlet is in a shopping mall that is closed;
Montreal arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and cultural venues will operate according to schedules set by the boroughs. For information, contact the venue or confirm schedules in each borough at ville. montreal. qc. ca. The Claude Robillard athletic centre will be closed;
The Biodôme and Planetarium will be open from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m.
The Botanical Garden and Insec-
tarium will be open from 9 a. m. to 9 p. m.

The Pointe- à- Callière archeological museum is closed;

Société de transport de Montréal buses and métro trains will operate on a holiday schedule. For informa- tion, consult stm. info;
The Agence métropolitaine de transport says the Montreal/ Vaudreuil- Hudson line will be out of service for the Thanksgiving weekend, from Friday until Tuesday morning. A bus service will be in place instead, with the buses running according to the line’s Sunday schedule on the holiday Monday. The AMT’s Deux- Montagnes line will operate on a Sunday schedule. The St- Jérôme line will run on a weekend schedule, while there will be no service for the Mont- StHilaire, Candiac and Mascouche lines. For more information, visit amt. qc. ca;
Laval and Longueuil transit will run on a Saturday schedule on Monday;
Post offices are closed on Monday and there will be no regular collection or delivery of mail. Privatelyowned retail postal outlets are open.
