Knights split weekend of road baseball action

The Medicine Hat K of C Knights went even over their weekend slate.

The Knights lost their first game on the road, falling

14-11 to the Fort Macleod Royals on Friday.

Tate Bowal had two hits with two RBIs and a run scored and Ethan Grad scored three times with two hits and an RBI.

Jayden Mook started the game and recorded two strikeouts in three innings pitched. Kane Bishop had two strikeouts in three innings pitched and Ethan Chernard worked an inning to end the game.

They finished play Friday with an 11-10 loss to the Lethbridge Lakers. Dylan Amundson recorded two RBIs with a hit and a run scored and Cole Carlson tallied two RBIs with two hits and two runs scored. Nixon Kunkel worked four innings on the mound with four strikeouts. Bowal and Amundson pitched the final two innings, with Amundson recording a strikeout.

The Knights had a rebound in their weekend with a 10-1 drubbing of Vauxhall on Saturday. Bowal recorded two RBIs with a hit and Bishop notched two RBIs with two hits and a run scored. Carlson picked up the win on the mound with six strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched. Laine Cunningham worked 1.1 innings to finish the game.

They capped off the weekend with a 19-18 win over the CBA Archers on Sunday. Bishop led the way with five hits, knocking in four RBIs and tallying three runs scored. Jayden Mook had four runs scored with two hits and an RBI and Wade Davies recorded three RBIs with three hits and he scored three times.

The Knights sent six pitchers to the mound, Amundson recorded two strikeouts in 1.1 innings and Davies had a punch out in 2.1 innings of work. James Cole, Ty Meyer, Grad and Chenard worked the rest of the contest.
