Online booking launched for public skating, swimming

- LETHBRIDGE HERALD

The latest changes brought forward by the Government of Alberta to reduce the spread of COVID-19 has meant quick changes by many to adjust to the new public health guidelines.

In an effort to make researching permitted recreation options more accessible to the community, and to help staff manage attendance at popular programs, the City of Lethbridge has announced online booking is available for all public skating opportunities.

Online booking has also been enabled at pools and leisure centres managed by Recreation Excellence (RecEx). Bookings can be made for a variety of options at Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre and Stan Siwik Pool. Be aware that:

• You must have an account in order to book your spot for public skating or swimming. Adult users can add family members to the account.

• If your family has an existing online account for swimming, you will need to log in at www.lethbridge.ca/publicskating and re-add family members. Although the online booking sites look the same, it is only partially connected and not all information is able to be brought over from the swimming portal.

• Every individual, particularly those in family or group bookings, must be registered for their own spot in the session.

• The system does not accept online payments but it will secure spots at specific sessions. Participants are asked to make payments at the arena or pool before their assigned session.

Visitors are reminded public skating is designed for leisurely skating only.
