Henderson Lake Golf Club celebrating centennial
Tommy Rideout wins City Golf Championship
Taken from the Lethbridge Herald, Nov. 2, 1926
The fine weekend weather enabled Tommy Rideout and E. Nock, the finalists in the City Championship, to play and showed he was the best local golfer for 1926.
Rideout won handily from Nock by shooting 36 in the first nine holes and maintaining the lead throughout.
Tommy Rideout is a worthy golf champion for 1926, having played consistent all season, being winner of the Shepherd Cup handicap, the J.H. Leo prize handicap and the city championship.
In August, Tommy took part in the Western Canada Amateur Championships but lost out to Alex Weir of Saskatoon in semifinal play.
The Lethbridge Golf Club has passed through a successful season financially and great hopes are entertained that 1927 should be the golfing year in Lethbridge history.
The Crow’s Nest golf tournament will be held at Lethbridge in June and we look forward to seeing playing conditions on the golf course 100 per cent better.

A very enjoyable time was spent here when the Lethbridge Golf Club received a return visit from the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club.
Some very fine scores were made and Davy Hume broke the course record with a 72. The singles were played in the morning and a luncheon was provided at the clubhouse.
In the afternoon the foursomes were played, then all retired to the 19th hole where all the best shots were discussed.
All then went to the White Lunch where a very fine banquet was held, and after some very fine speeches we said good-bye to the finest bunch of sports that anyone could wish to meet.
