• Galt Museum and Archives’ Daytime Galt Workshops hands-on history program for adults and seniors continues
March 22 from 10:30 a.m.-noon, featuring “Bamboo Flutes.” Decorate a bamboo flute and discover the history behind woodwind instruments. Admission fees apply (includes exhibit access); free to annual pass holders.
• Harambee Grandmas, the Lethbridge Chapter of the Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, will present their 19th Travel Chat March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Casa, 230 8 St. S. Join presenter Elaine Jagielski to tour the delights of Ireland, and visit some must-see places in England, Scotland and Wales. Admission is free; donations gratefully accepted.

• Blankets for Canada Lethbridge meets Thursdays from 10 a.m.-noon at the west entrance of Southminster United Church (11 Street and 4 Avenue). We are in need of more volunteers. Donations of yarn or financial donations are greatly appreciated, also eight- or nine-inch squares as well as strips 70 inches long, knitted or crocheted. • Are you interested in writing? The River Bottom Writers invite you to join them the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 6:45 p.m. in the Richardson Oilseed Room at Lethbridge College for a session of informal writing practice. All genre writers are welcome. Bring pen, paper or laptop.
• Lethbridge College will offer a series of sessions designed to help potential students who are considering returning to college after being away from school for one year or more. There will be two webinars and two in-person mature learner information sessions later this month and early next month. The webinars take place from 6 to 7 p.m. March 23 and from 2 to 3 p.m. April 1. • Shaughnessy Community Association will hold its monthly Pancake Breakfast March 25 from 8-11 a.m. Cost $5. Secondhand Treasures rooms will be open.
• A Sports Equipment Drive, conducted by the Lethbridge 39th Venture Scouts to benefit needy families in the community, will take place March
25 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Lethbridge West Stake Centre, 560 Highlands Blvd. W. The public is invited to bring used basketball, soccer and baseball equipment, clothing and footwear. All contributions will be sorted and transported to Lethbridge Family Services for distribution.
• Seedy Saturday will take place March 25 from 1-4 p.m. at Southminster United Church, featuring a seed swap, workshops, exhibitors and activities focused on local food and gardening. The free event will include a variety of exhibitors, including Wildrose Heritage Seeds, Permaculture Lethbridge, Oxbow Native Plant Nursery and Earthly Matters Vermiculture. • The 100 Dollar Dinner, featuring former NHL player Sheldon Kennedy and benefitting the U of L Women’s Hockey Alumni Foundation, will take place March
25 at the Coast Lethbridge Hotel & Conference Centre (doors open at 5:15 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m.). The event will feature a meal of salmon and prime rib, a silent auction and live auction, and evening entertainment from Cal Toth Dueling Pianos. • The Lethbridge Legion Pipe Band will hold its annual Spring Fling ceilidh and fundraiser March 25 in the Memorial Hall of the Lethbridge Legion. Tickets are $20 each, available from band members, Whitbie’s Fish and Chips, and at the Lethbridge Legion office. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., with live performances by the Legion Pipe Band and other musical guests beginning at 8 p.m. A dance with live music by Cabot's Crossing begins at 9 p.m. There will be a cash bar, 50-50 draw, silent auction, door prize and a light lunch provided. • A St. Patrick’s Dinner and Dance will be held March 25 at the German Canadian Harmony Hall in Redcliff.
