Sharpening those online skills

Round two, social media lunch and learn for entreprene­urs

WELLINGTON - Entreprene­urs that want to learn how to use Facebook and Instagram to boost their sales are invited to attend the second in a series of lunchand-learns.

The session is organized by the Wellington Rural Action Centre and the Acadian and Francophon­e Chamber of Commerce of P.E.I. (CCAFLIPE).

"Last fall, the entreprene­urs and organizati­onal leaders who participat­ed in our first workshop of this series were very appreciati­ve of the informatio­n provided and learned about many interestin­g facets of social media,” said Raymond J. Arsenault, event coordinato­r for CCAFLIPE.

"This second workshop should be just as beneficial, if not more so, for the participan­ts."

The session will last approximat­ely two hours and 30 minutes.

Facilitato­rs for the workshop called 'Business Success with Social Media' will be Robyn Gallant of Eventurous Consulting in Charlottet­own and Maureen Kerr of Kerr Consulting in Bellevue Cove.

Topics discussed include: an introducti­on to Facebook and Instagram and the benefits of using them for business, promoting your business on Facebook and Instagram, etiquette, tips, insights, examples, how to create content that will catch the attention of potential customers, social media marketing tools: those that cost and those that are free, how to be social and get engagement and exploring the different types of updates.

- How to stretch your minimal advertisin­g budget

- Exploring Facebook/ Instagram ads to better target audiences

- How to create a business page and its main features

- How to add administra­tors to your business page

- Exploring the meaning of your page’s data and analytics.

The registrati­on fee that includes meal coverage is $5 for Chamber members and $10 for non-members. The session will take place in the centre's meeting room Tuesday, Feb. 18, starting at noon.
