We would like to invite your organization to a Volunteer Fair to be held at Three Oaks Senior High on Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Are you looking for volunteers? At TOSH there are many students looking to connect with meaningful volunteer activities to gain skills, give back to their community, and to collect Community Service Bursary hours. We would like to help form connections between students and volunteer organizations. There are several ways for your organization to take part in this fair. 1) You could set up an information booth and have a person talk about your organization and its volunteer opportunities. The booth could be run by an adult from your organization or a TOSH student already volunteering with you. We would provide you with a table. This option permits the opportunity for curious students to make connections, learn about your organization, and talk to someone about specific volunteer opportunities. 2) You could set up and deliver a visual display to TOSH which can be viewed by interested students at the fair. We would provide you with an area for your display. A visual display would attract attention from students and you would be able to include any relevant information you believe would entice volunteers. 3) You could email a brief blurb about volunteer opportunities within your organization, how to get involved, and contact information for your organization. This information would then be compiled with information from other groups and displayed. This option would provide students with contact information and greater detail than is located on the Community Service Bursary website. We look forward to hearing from you and greatly encourage you to take part. We feel that it is important to encourage volunteering with this age group. Volunteering helps students become more confident, provides a connection to the local and global community, and offers opportunities to explore future career opportunities. By encouraging students to volunteer during their younger years, we are creating life-long volunteers. Contact Cara DeCoste at ctdecoste@edu.pe.ca or 902-8888461 by noon on Thursday, Nov. 5, to indicate if your organization will be taking part in this fair and in which capacity.
