1925-2022 Edward Clarence Kane, age 96, of Sydney, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Harboursto­ne Enhanced

Care, Sydney. Born August 4, 1925, in Sydney, he was the second youngest child of the late George and Susannah (Strickland) Kane. Edward

was predecease­d by his first wife, Anna Maude (Tuff) and second wife, Nora (Belbin), as well as his siblings William, Frederick and Lilian in childhood and sisters, Beatrice, Rita, Helen, Florence, Anna, Eileen and Gloria. The late Mr. Kane was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his children, Reg (Sarah Macarthur), Shirley (George Noseworthy) and Susan (Hubert Collier); son, George; and adopted daughter, Cheryl (Grayson Mccann). He is also survived by his present life partner of 23 years, Mary Mcinnis, as well as many grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews. The late Edward Kane resided most of his life on Richmond Street and was employed for 45 years at the Sydney Steel Plant, beginning in 1941 at the age of 16 and retiring in 1985 in his 60th year. Special thanks to the staff of Spanish Bay at Harboursto­ne Enhanced Care for the exceptiona­l care they provided our father. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take

place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ the King on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev.
