It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmothe­r, Anne Patricia Cox, age 65, on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney Mines on June 24, 1956, Anne was a daughter of the late Theodore and Olive (Devoe) Marsh. Anne worked at the Alder Point Fish Plant, the Clearwater Fish Plant and then Macdonalds Restaurant. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping with her grandchild­ren and going to the beach. She loved her scratch tickets, picking blueberrie­s and her pride and joy her dog buddy. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney and the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her son. Billy (Jennifer Macdougall), Mill Creek; her daughters. Tammy Cox (Ricky), North Sydney, Jennifer Cox (Brent), Ontario; David (Lisa) Wylde, who were just like a son and daughter; her six grandchild­ren, Sarah, Ethan, Dominic, Michael, Mason and Kendra. Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Kenneth Cox; her brother, Leonard Marsh; and her sister, Greta Hillier. The family would like to thank the ER nursing staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital especially Marsha and Dr. Holmes. Also, a sincere thank you to the staff at Taigh Solas, the Harbourvie­w Hospital Rehab, family and friends for their support. Visitation for Anne will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Joseph Church with Rev. Angus Macdougall officiatin­g. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bras d’or in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
