KEATING, (Mcgee), Ada Marie

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Ada Marie Keating (Mcgee) at age 90 on February 5, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, with her loving niece Stellamari­e at her side. Ada was born in Sydney Mines (Atlantic Street) July 13, 1931, daughter of the late Stephen and Stella (Diggins). She was predecease­d by loving husband

Charles Bernard and only daughter Lisa Marie. She was also predecease­d by brothers Anthony, Stephen, Gerald and her loving sisters Ellen & Stella. She is survived by her stepchildr­en Sheila Veniot (Stewart), Rosalie Walsh (Peter), John (Brenda) , Ike

(Grace), Michael (Mary) and numerous step-grandchild­ren & great grandchild­ren.

Also leaving behind many nieces & nephews with special mention to Mariam, Stellamari­e and Damien. Upon graduation, Ada began a career in banking which took her to Halifax but eventually

back to Cape Breton where she met her husband Bernie. They spent several years in Charlottet­own, P.E.I. where they developed a close circle of friends. In her retirement, they spent winters in Clearwater Beach, Florida, making many new friends who she continued to keep in contact with in her later years. Ada also enjoyed music, dancing, long debates, visits to the Casino and her beloved Blue Jays. A special thank you to staff at Northside Guest Home (Munroe Place) for their kindness & care of Ada, also staff at Cape Breton Regional Hospital (Palliative Care). Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass at our Lady of Fatima Catholic Parish, Sydney River and burial will both be at a later date. Donations
