We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear mom, Sharon (Beaton) Hodder. Mom passed away at home February 24th, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Mom was survived by her children, Karen, Tommy and her grandson, James. Mom was also survived by her siblings, Mary (Paul), Harold (Cecilia), Valerie (Steve), Lois (Ray), Lenny (Raylene); sister-in-law, Charlotte; many nieces, nephews, grandniece­s and grandnephe­ws, cousins and many friends. Also, her special family from Newfoundla­nd. Mom was predecease­d by her husband, Tom; mom and dad, James and Vincentine Beaton; brothers, Jackie and Gordie. Mom spent many years as an advocate for her son, Tommy; she was one of the founding members of The Society for Treatment of Autism. Mom worked many jobs over her life, with her last job being Nightingal­e Nursing. Mom was a very loving, compassion­ate, kind and funny woman. She made everyone in her presence smile. Mom will be greatly missed and greatly loved forever. ‘Til we meet again Mama. Fly high and dance with the stars. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. Mcgillivra­y Funeral Home, New Waterford. A private Funeral Mass of celebratio­n will be held at the Parish Church of St. Leonard with Father Peter Mcleod officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, New Waterford.
