GUILLENA, Anne “Nan” Irene

It is with sadness and fond memories that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother at the age of 96 on February 8, 2018.

Nan was born in Sydney on July 1, 1921 to the late Clifford and Margaret Couture.

She was a voracious reader. She was very active in the family trophy business. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Nan is survived by son, Joseph “Joe” Jr. Guillena; 12 grandchildren, Cheryl, Sandra, Brian, Bradley, Jody, Clifford, Darlene, Diane, Kevin, Perter, Kerry, Roger and 15 great-grandchildren.

Nan was predeceased by her parents; husband, Joseph Sr., sons, Clifford “Sonny” and Gerald “Gerry”; daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn “Gwen”; brothers, John, James, William and sister, Doris MacQueen.

Visitation will take place this evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.

A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, February 11 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate. Light refreshments will be served in the reception area following service.

Family flowers only, please. If desired, donations may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, or a charity of choice.
