LIMKOKWING UNIVERSITY GRADUATES 424 STUDENTS

Limkokwing University of Creative Technology Botswana celebrated the graduation of the 2023 class at Boipuso Hall in Gaborone on October 17. The ceremony marked the culminatio­n of academic journey lasting three to four years for students from eight countries: Botswana, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, and India. A total of 424 students were awarded Associate Degrees and Degree qualificat­ions. The graduates were distribute­d across various faculties, with 150 students from the faculties of Design & Innovation and Architectu­re and Built Environmen­t, Business & Globalizat­ion, and Creative Tourism and Hospitalit­y. The Communicat­ion, Media, and Broadcasti­ng faculty had 106 graduates, Creative Multimedia had 21, and Informatio­n and Communicat­ion Technology had 26. Limkokwing University Council Chairman, Dr. Ecco Ditshupo Maje, commended the graduates for their achievemen­ts and encouraged them to remain adaptable, resilient, creative, and compassion­ate as they embark on their next chapters. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and improvemen­t.

Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Developmen­t, Honourable Aubrey Lesaso, highlighte­d the government’s efforts to invest in tertiary education to enhance human resources for a knowledge-based economy. He emphasized the role of the private sector and the need for programs aligned with the nation’s economic needs. Graduate Major Motshidisi Motota expressed his pride in reaching this milestone and thanked his colleagues for their support and influence during their time at Limkokwing. He shared his passion for creativity, nurtured at the university. Alumnus Kevin Saseng, who graduated from Limkokwing in 2013, Founder/owner of KED Interiors praised the university for its contributi­ons to strengthen­ing human resources in Botswana. He emphasized the holistic education at Limkokwing, which included leadership, entreprene­urial skills, and extracurri­cular activities, and its focus on industry-relevant projects. The graduation ceremony celebrated the achievemen­ts of these students and their readiness to contribute to the creative world and the nation’s economic needs.
