Botswana is home to approximately 570 bird species, including numerous Palaearctic and IntraAfrican migrants, as well as several nomadic species traversing Southern Africa. The country’s diverse habitats and central location, particularly the Okavango Delta and the Kgalagadi Pans, make it an essential stopover and destination for many migratory birds. This rich avian diversity underscores the importance of conservation efforts and the promotion of ecotourism for Botswana.
