shares that she started operations with just a hand making wig services. Self- taught and through lots of practice, she then proceeded to making machine made wigs which at the time, she was the only one in the country with that skill. She explains that from start to finish and with the specific wig machinery, a wig takes approximately 40 minutes to complete and have it ready to wear, which allowed for an increase in production. “My team and I pride ourselves in units that sit well and fit seamlessly,” she explains. According to Kgathi, they offer hair prostheses for those suffering with alopecia due to chemotherapy, trichotillomania or other medical conditions. “These are medical vacuum wigs. They are a perfect option to help those coping with hair loss without having to deal with the social stigma,” she explains. One of their exciting services is colouring an array of their wigs, and they have a knack for creating some of the most breath- taking shades. She shares that they colour to any shade under the sun. Taking into account the fact that hair fashion and styles are ever evolving, they spend a lot of time trend- forecasting to keep up with what’s in and what’s not. She also notes that virgin hair can be treated with heat, chemicals or colour and that when choosing hair colour, there are a few factors to consider. “The healthier and well- kept your hair is, the better colour will look on it. When choosing colour, my only advice is that the use of harsh chemical compounds such as bleach is extremely damaging as it strips the colour out of the cortex of the hair shafts. For this reason, we use cashmere hair dye, which is a lot gentler and allows for variation and diversity,” she explains. She explains that it is the double drawn Cambodian hair from their premium luxe range that does it for her and is her best selling. This hair, she says is light yet coarser and very lustrous in texture, which makes it effortless to wear and maintain and its unique nature allows each individual strand to hold heat and permanent colour with ease. “It is quite pricey but still remains a favourite and a best seller,” she says.

Kgathi shares that one of the highlights is getting feedback from a happy client. Her business allows her to meet very beautiful women with amazing personalities, and she always learns something new from them. “I have since had to increase the duration of consultation as I have realised that what is meant to be a 15 minutes interaction usually takes longer as we then tend to chat and as a result, some clients have turned into very good friends,” she says.
