and 57 .5 game points. Young GrandMasters has so far managed to register 8 victories and two losses. On third position is Ramotswa Chess Club with 15 match points and 47 game points.

Enpassent has a formidable squad of tried and tested players in the likes of WIM Kgalalelo Botlhole, FM Thato Olebile, CM Thabo Gumpo and Kuda Bayani whose experience will count a lot when it comes to approaching the next matches and marching all the way to victory.

The team is also looking good with youngsters, Arona & Laone Moshoboro, who have been doing quite well lately. The team is fairly balanced with both senior and youth sections. On the other hand, Young GrandMasters has mostly unknown players with WFMs Naledi Marape, Londani Tamuhla and Moakofi Notha as the only prominent players. However, they can cause serious upsets since they have nothing to lose and are not under any pressure. One other fixture which is likely to determine the final league standings is Enpassent against Black Bishops Chess Club. Bishops like Enpassent boasts of experienced players such as WIM Onkemetse Francis, and WFM Thapelo Francis. Having struggled a bit two weeks ago and left in position 6, the Bishops will be looking to cause an upset against Enpassent and bag maximum points to push their way into the podium positions.

“We are ready and confident in our abilities to maintain a position on the top 3 and even possibly ending the league on a high note on top of the standings.

The previous weekend we had a minor setback which we are working on, so we are certain in our abilities to maintain a podium position. The fight for first place is very much still on,” said captain of Ramotswa, Gofaone Kobe when quizzed on the prospects of winning the league title.
