UAE may see rain, fog until Saturday

ABU DHABI: The UAE is expected to witness drizzles and fog in separate areas until Saturday, according to the National Centre of Meteorolog­y (NCM). Wednesday’s weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times with a chance of rains on separate areas.

Light to moderate southeaste­rly to northweste­rly winds will blow, turning to active at times at 10 to 20 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf and regular waves in the Sea of Oman.

Thursday’s weather will be partly cloudy in general and cloudy at times with a chance of drizzles on some areas, especially the southern and eastern ones.

The weather, however, will be humid at night and on Friday morning in some coastal and inland areas with a chance of light fog.

Light to moderate northweste­rly to southweste­rly winds will blow, turning to active at times at 10 to 20 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf and regular waves in the Sea of Oman.

Friday’s weather will be clear in general and partly cloudy at times in the east but will be humid at night and on Saturday morning with a chance of fog or light fog over some coastal and inland areas, especially the northern ones.

Light to moderate northweste­rly to southweste­rly winds will blow, turning to active at times, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Saturday’s weather is expected to be clear in general and humid at night and on Sunday morning with a chance of fog or light fog over some coastal and inland areas.

Light to moderate northweste­rly to northeaste­rly winds will blow, turning to southeaste­rly at 10 to 20 and up to 30 km/h, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Recently, the country witnessed rainfall of varying levels due to a weather system caused by a shallow air depression from the southwest, accompanie­d by humid southeast winds.

This was further compounded by an upper air depression and an air current from the northwest, resulting in varying amounts of clouds from the west and southwest.

The temperatur­e ranged from 14.2°C in Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah at 06:00am to 37.2°C at the Al Jazeera Border Guard in Al Dhafra at 03:45pm, according to the NCM.
