Ministry clarifies protocol for educationa­l facilities

DUBAI: The UAE Ministry of Education clarified some points regarding the national protocol for the operation of educationa­l facilities for the academic year 2022-2023.

The ministry stated that it does not require periodic check-ups or the applying of green traffic system for students under the age of 12, “vaccinated or not”, neither at the beginning of the academic year, nor at the beginning of each term, provided that the test is conducted when symptoms are noticed.

The Ministry clarified that students from 12 and above to the twelth or thirteenth grade, under the British curriculum (vaccinated or not), must present a negative PCR test result, not exceeding 96 hours at the beginning of each term, and does not require periodic test or applying the green traffic system until the end of the academic year, with the need to check if symptoms appear.

“When performing the Emirates Standard “Emsat” tests (vaccinated or not) applying the green traffic system and the adoption of the approved precaution­ary measures are taken into account.

Students (vaccinated or not, and exempted), upon entering the university campus and dormitory, must present a negative PCR test result of no more than 69 hours, at the beginning of each term, with the need to be tested when symptoms appear. Students who are not vaccinated without a medical excuse or exception, must present a negative PCR test result, with a period not exceeding 69 hours at the beginning of each term, with the applying of the green traffic system or conducting a test and showing a negative result not exceeding 7 days.

Regarding administra­tive and educationa­l staffs and service providers (vaccinated), they must submit a negative PCR test result, not exceeding 69 hours, at the beginning of each term when entering educationa­l facilities.

For those who are not vaccinated for health reasons or excluded from vaccinatio­n, a negative PCR test result, not exceeding 69 hours, must be presented at the beginning of each term, with the applying of the green traffic system upon entering educationa­l facilities. For unvaccinat­ed service providers without a medical excuse or exception, a negative PCR test result must be submited, with a period not exceeding 69 hours, at the beginning of each term, with the applying of the green traffic system or presenting a negative test result not exceeding 7 days. The UAE Ministry of Education has approved the Code of Conduct for education profession­als in general education to enhance the profession and establish clear and public ethical standards, rules, and principles of conduct for the educationa­l process.
